I know everyone is saying what a treasure but I have to say the same. What a precious treasure, you are so lucky. Also the buttons are beautiful.

wow. Just look at all those old spools and scissors. My grandma had a box of buttons when I was little. I wish I had it now. You are so lucky to have your little chest. I'm afraid my "tools of the trade" would never fit! Thanks for sharing!

I decided to take it out, dust it off and show it off!

She and Grandpa married in 1898. He took a small case with drawers and she lined it with some velveteen. He drilled holes in the bottom drawer and put a few pegs in it for spools of thread. Some of the needles are still in the glass tubes!! I included pics of all the drawers.

    Dedicated and organize woman!

It really is a treasure. Just to know your grandparents touched all of it makes it even more special. I would love it too.

How wonderful!! What a real treasure! When I was 12, my Grandmother gave me my Great-Grandma's sewing basket, but all of its contents have not survived another 50, although I do still have and treasure the basket.
Treasures like these contain the "threads to our past".

What a wonderful treasure to have...
I only have my grandmother's pinking shears and an old pin cushion... nothing more...my grandfather dumped her Queen Anne sewing cabinet and her button boxes because no one NEEDED them. He didn't even ask if anyone wanted them

That sewing box has so many family stories inside. Too bad she can't talk and tell you all she's seen. What a fantastic heirloom. It is worth so much more with the contents. Thank you for showing it all to us.
