Cute, cute, cute - both sides of it!!! And I love your avatar - have a relative who is into peacocks, and this would make up into a great pillow or wall hanging for her.

Well done! That is a wonderful first quilt. I love the idea of "cute" skull and crossbones. I'm going to look for the sparkly pink fabric as it is exactly what I was looking for a while back and I had to settle for something else. Keep up the good work and keep the photos coming as photos are the greatest.

I think the method you are wanting to use is called cotton theory. Do a search for it and especially one that was on Nancy Zieman's show which showed how to do this method on a quilted jacket.

Yes i did eventually find it by Betty Cotton and Nancy does have a tute on it but with a quilt also. Well i found a tute on it on u tube it explains it a little better and its a tad different but this is how i will join my machine quilted blocks together. Sewwwwwwwww easy.

If I do another cotton theory quilt, I will plan the fabric for joining strips so they are not so prominent. Perhaps match the backing and a good color for the "sashing" on the front, as they actually do frame each block. Hope you enjoy the rest of your project.

the quilting process you are talking about is quilt as you go, the other would be considered whole quilt quilting. Your quilt looks great.
