Silly me didnt add the tute/vid!!
This is the method im going to use to join the pieces. Im told its not exactly QAYG but maybe it is the joining of them. Well if nothing else i hope this tute/vid will help others understand more clearly just the joining part. Thank you all for your help also its so greatly appreciated!!!

OK all the blocks are made!! Woo wee and i changed up the design a bit. Im bad at that. Next step is cutting out my backing and the batting then squaring it all up. Cutting is hardest for me with my back so it can take a bit longer. Good thing i have lotsa time till Xmas lol
