Black sashing next to all those yummy colors in the blocks will be smashing! Can't wait to see it when it's done.

It has really come along fast and is turning out to be quite beautiful. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

here is the top so far....I would like to make it bigger. Please help me choose. Should I do a pieced scrappy look 6' border on each side or choose from one of the prints I used in the quilt or ?????. Right now the quilt is 58x72 and I'd like it to be at least 65x80.

    Wainting for suggestions.........

what I have finished so far

    Mgrhs:
You have alot of white in your blocks, I think a white, maybe tone on tone or a white print would be great next to your black then I would bind with the black that you used for the framing. Big decision but I think your quilt is gorgeous. Good job.

I think I would add a few smaller plain borders encasing a border that has diamonds on point (to mimic your card trick block). I would make the diamonds scrappy, using the various fabrics from each block, and make the outside white. I would add either a single or double plain border to either side, repeated with fabric from inner blocks if possible. With that you should be able to make the borders big enough so that the quilt is 65x80. I don't know that I would do more than one section of the border as a pieced border or I think it would begin to compete for attention with the inner blocks instead of complimenting them.

I recognize at least four fabrics from photo # 5, and have them either in quilts or in my stash. Can't wait to see this finished!

thanks for the help. I always worry about having white or light colored borders thinking they will get dirty. But I do think this quilt needs some more light colors.

This is what I decided on...only two sides done so far. I haven't attached them yet. I'm thinking I will do a simple 4 patch or something in each corner.
