The layout I posted is not yet definitive. I just put them down for the picture to show what I'm planning. I usually move things around a few times until I'm definitely stitching them together. Looking at the picture, I've already decided to change it a little, just as you suggested!

Carol Doak, "50 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars" - can only recommend it! The stars are beautiful and there are so many options when playing with fabric and colours. I learned how to paper-piece from it.
