what a great story. It really makes my heart smile that you were able to do that for her. I hope she realizes how lucky she is. The quilt came out beautiful. Great job Grandma!

Oh my, what handsome children. The quilt is just beautiful. What a treasure the two of you have created

Have you ever heard of using an eyebrow shaper for ripping. It is guarded blade that has slits. I put it between the quilt backing and batting to rip quilting out such as the original quilting and don't get holes in my backing. It is fast and easy and so far I have never gotten any holes in any tops or backings. I do rip between the backing the batting just in case.

Beautiful quilt and even more beautiful babies! You did a really good thing when you saved that quilt top. Your daughter did a lovely job on it, and it deserved to be finished with good backing, batting, and quilting.

That is one beautiful quilt and the story that goes with it very touching. Your love for your daughter shows in all the work you did. That quilt will endure through many generations. Congratulations!

What a beautiful quilt. She did an awesome job on a first big quilt, and you did the SUPER AWESOME job to rescue and finish it off for her daughter. I am guessing that a lot of tears will be shed when she opens that gift. Way to go.
