I have one of those that my mother had. I think she bought it at an estate sale, I can't really remember. It's in my extra bedroom and I don't really know whats in it. I'm going to get it out and look at it tonight. I need to do something with it. Thanks for the nudge to do something with it.

I bought one on EBay and the seller told me that his father brought it home for his mother from Europe after the war. It was stamped "Poland.". Months later I found another one for my sister also stamped Piland".

Awesome find and great deal. I am also lucky to own one in a darker wood but somewhere in the last 25years, it lost it's legs so it sits on top of a bureau in my sewing room. They certainly are handy.

I had a chance to purchase one last year at Goodwill here in Davenport. Had it in my cart and everything....then put it back on the shelf. WHY???? I must have lost my mind.

I picked one of these up at the recycle center a couple years ago. It had "stuff" in it, and was in perfect shape. It now has my stuff in it! Hubby says I should have left it at the center- he has no humor.

I have one just like yours that when my friend passed away none of her children wanted it and her daughter gave it to me. It too came with lots of little things she had made and I treasure it because it reminds me of her and our friendship.
