Of the fine quilted goods in the tourist trap shops of Lancaster, PA, we've finally figured out how to make these crazy star table toppers.

They sell for $48-$98 (small-large) in the shop. (More professionally done obviously.)

Of course, this thing needs a binding before the whole thing unravels, and I don't know how I'm going to put one on.

These things take up a lot of fabric, and for the larger ones, weigh up to and over a pound! You have to cut these rectangles and then fold them in half and then fold them into the prairie point and arrange them (more carefully than I did) and work your way out using as many colors as want.

I'm going to see if I can finish this one and make one for Fourth of July.

And I have to work full time too.

It looks beautiful. Good luck on the binding. I'm sure it will be worth the time when you get done.

That is certainly an eye-catcher!--(you just may have to find a "sick" day or two to finish that one and make yet another for 4th of July---here in CA, we might refer to that as a mental health day......)

It looks lovely in the blue & white. When you come to bind it, just treat each corner like you do when you miter a square quilt. I did this butterfly one, and it worked just fine.
