I love it! DH is a pilot/builder, so I'm always looking for airplane inspiration. I have some of the backing fabric left over from some valances. Never thought to use it for backing. Thanks for sharing.

The backing was the first thing we bought then matched colors to it. That was the challenge. I wouldn't have thought of using it for backing either, except there aren't many airplane fabric with "vintage" colors...mostly brights, which daughter did not want

I created this from a couple sources. One is from a free pattern on Fatcatpatterns.com "simple Planes by Sindy Rodenmayer...it was free. The biplane was designed by me. I don't mind sharing it, but I will have to figure out how to make it a .PDF file first. I can work on that if you are interested.

Now that's what I call a great boys quilt! Coloring books are a great place to find ideas for doing pictures on quilt and other stuff as well. When I use to wood burn pictures I would use coloring books for lots of ideas.
