After seeing Shadow Dancers Strip Twist . . I just HAD to make one! I have so much scaps thrown everywhere. Just sorting thru the scraps was a GOOD thing, now I have a better handle on them. Large (less than a FQ), string quilt pieces, small scraps and last of the line . . 1/2 strips for fabric baskets.

I told my DH that it was a "free quilt" . . . that's like a free puppy. lol

Here is my version that still needs the top and bottom inner boarder and the blue along side will be the outer board. I started sorted Friday and got this far by Sunday evening...goes fast.

That's a really great pattern for scraps. What are the measurements of the strips and blocks, unfinished?

Very pretty! Go scrap busters! I laughed out loud at your association with the "free puppy!" Not quite the same!

Great looking quilt. I am also working on one of this pattern. I'm making mine queen size and am using 200 different fabrics. For all of you that missed the pattern here is the link.

This is beautiful! What a great pattern--I'll have to bookmark it and try it one of these days. God knows my scraps need to be sorted through!

Yes, I bought 6 boxes of fabric at an aucton a couple of weeks ago then Shadow showed us her quilt. I then knew what I was going to do with some of that fabric. I am about 3/4 of the way done. I was hoping to have it done this week but I just got word that my Aunt passed away yesterday so I probably will not get much of a chance to work on the quilt this week as we have family coming in from out of town that will be staying with us so I need to do some cleaning. I'll post a pic when I get it done.

I love the motion you can see when you stare at the quilt! I just printed directions so I can try one.

That is one gorgeous quilt---and it certainly doesn't look like it was made of "leftovers"----you did alot of thinking about where to place lights and darks and the finished product is stunning (it certainly makes my "to do" list!!!!)

Wow, this does have lots of movement and optical illusion going on!

A wonderful 'free' quilt as you say. A fun way to use up those scraps that seem to multiply while we sleep.

I'm going to add this to my 'to do' list!

You wouldn't believe the scraps I have, my friends give them to me. The tiniest ones I don't use and give to some pre-school teachers for 'glue' art with the kids. I love to think that they are getting excited about color, texture and fabric....future quilters in the making?

keep on creating with scraps! :D
