I think the sewing machine needs some little simple something but it hasn't hit me yet.

A thread string coming from the spool of thread and a needle with thread string hanging out for the sewing machine. The hats could use gloves?

Sorry about that, it looked like hats. After looking at it closer, it does resemble thimbles. Ooops. Anyhow, adding the thread sounds good and as for the thimbles, add either a needle with thread hanging out of it or something used with thimble. :)

Maybe a bit of silver or white somewhere on the machine to break it up? Very cute - can't wait to see the finished version.

Maybe a turn dial on the front of the machine?

What about a gold oval on the side so it looks like the Singer Featherweight Medallion?

I have a sewing machine music box, which plays "Buttons and Bows" with a piece of fabric under the needle and a mouse sitting on the top. On the right side of the machine is a pair of scissors in front and a pattern in back. BTW, as the music plays, the mouse turns.

That is so cute. Did you do the pattern yourself. I love it.
