I like the quilt but I bet it would look good with a sashing in between the rows. That way it would separate the blocks and would hold the confusion down a bit. But I like it just as it is!!

I agree with the Bow Tie...amazing the variations you can get just by playing with colour. This is a real beauty...nice and bright. Look forward to seeing more of your "finds".

What a beautiful bow tie.. that's one of my all time favorite patterns. I don't think it would be too difficult to piece the basic old style pattern on your treadle. Here's the last one I did.. the bow ties are 2" squares on it if I remember right.

Billy, look up the pattern Dimensional Bowtie, this is a very easy pattern to follow and it looks great. If you can't find it I could send you a sample of it. The middle of the tie itself is not sewn down onto the quilt, making it "dimensional.

The bow-tie block presents an opportunity to learn/master y-seams.

This is a modified pattern of the bow tie pattern by Janet Wickell. You won't have the typical square in the middle, but form the shape using triangles sewn to outer blocks.

Beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing, Billie.
Eleanor Burns does it different too.
