What a find! I love to see these old machines finding homes where they will be put to work. It's too bad sewing machines are not so well made anymore. I love my Bernina, but I doubt if it will be still going strong in 50 years.

Congrats! It looks somewhat like the one my mom had (sister has it now) but it doesn't have cams.

If it is one of the ones that takes the discs (cams), you can find the replacements on eBay.

THis machine takes a 206x13 needle. Swing needle. They are shorter than most regular needles. I would like size 14. Anyone know where to get them? AllBrands has them, but they are on backorder, and that is for 100 needles/$49.
One site wanted $10 to ship 5 or 10 needles...
Any suggestions of places you get hard to find needles?

The foot control is easy to take out and put on the floor. If it's like my old Singer it's a foot control slipped into a slot underneath the cabinet. I like the knee control much better then the floor. Only thing is if you are use to using a machine with auto knee lift, things can get interesting. :D

I use to have a button foot pedal on my Kenmore and asked at a local machine repair shop...cause the button would stick...and they looked it up in the parts book and found a newer style and it works great. At least the machine doesn't sew my itself any more....thought it was hexed.
