Thread painted and micro quilted 10 x 16. Between making and quilts and quilting I stay busy. I have a lot of fun with these little hangings. I give some to my sister to sell in her B&B. They don't take very long. This one was two days to finish and bind. Housework????? Phewy! Enjoy!

Oak leaves (took out that black thread in the upper left. It looked awful!)

Only two days? Is that without sleep, eating or going potty? Your piece of art is beautiful!

    Beautiful.

So do you basically start with a plain piece of fabric (or a few pieces sewn together crazy quilt style) and then sketch/sew the general outline of the images before you go to town with the thread painting?

I started with some abstract layering of a few fabrics, then covered ti with chiffon. The design was drawn on paper and outlined on the machine regular stitching, torn away and then free motioned.
