Mine is a wool applique quilt that won 3rd place in Wall Hangings at the 2009 Home Machine Quilting Show in Salt Lake City, UT. It is a design by Amy McClellan of "Under the Garden Moon", and you can find the pattern here, #GM205 under the category "Spring":

Mine is an Irish Chain, with machine embroidered blocks. I made this for my MIL. She loved purple and flowers. I used flannel on the back to be sure it was soft and I put the silk binding just to try something different. She would not use it when I gave it to her, she said it was too pretty. When she passed away, the quilt came back to me.

Mine is a quilt I designed for my son. He requested I make him a quilt, since both his sisters have several quilts and he had none. He said, "Just put a dragon in the center of it and that would be good." I purchased the dragon applique from Windsong designs and enlarged it 200%. I designed the blocks surrounding the dragon. I won Best of Show in my local quilt guild for this quilt.

Thanks, Kathy. I was really studying yours. My hubby wants me to make a mariner's compass for his office but i've been resisting because it looks difficult. I've never paper pieced before - was it a difficult quilt to do and would you do it again?

My avatar quilt is one I made using only selvages from fabrics my best friend & I have been saving for years. It was tons of fun & even won an award at our local guild show in 2009. The award was given by the local "Arts Assembly"..which was a huge honor that they considered my quilt art.

This quilt is made entirely from selvages.

I love the 3D effect of your quilt. Making one is one my "want to do" list. Beautiful quilt.
I thought this would show up under the quilt I was looking at, but it did not. The quilt was "thinking outside the box" done in greens and lights. It was on page 4.

My avatar is "Diamond Log Cabin Star" by Dunster (she's a member of this board). It is my oldest granddaughter's college graduation quilt. She had missed out on the high school grad quilts cause I hadn't started doing them when she got out of HS.

If your avatar pic is a quilt - please post a bigger pic along with the name and designer of the block. A link to directions you used might be nice as well. I am asking because due to the small size of the avatar pics it is sometimes difficult to pick out all the detail and identify the pattern. Thanks in advance for participating - can't wait to see your pics!!
Here's mine. Design is 'Thinking Outside the Block' by Toadusew.com. Made for DD who just loves it!
Wow! This one looks like it's stacked in a pyramid shape...I love it!
