To be clear, this is the one that's popping out at me. Though, maybe it's just me:>

I guess I'm odd man out, but I like the gold. When I saw it my first thought was that that would make an interesting focal point to see the "flow" of the fabric.

I like the gold too.......just not a fan of the whites.....I'd vote for replacing the whites with shades of the gold

I like the gold. I would add something to blend it better, like a light yellow white gold, in addition to the gold, so it doesn't jump out as much while still being a fun focal fabric

Boyfriend agrees with Candace. He says that one stands out, because it goes dark pink -> light pink -> white -> gold -> white -> blue/purple and the white with flowers breaks the pattern. He also said the one 2 to the left of the white with florals stands out. He likes the gold, and likes it surrounded by white.

I've learned a long time ago to trust his taste in patterns / fabrics / colors / etc. He's annoying good at picking out great combinations

Hmmm, I like that idea. Nix the 2 whites and the white with purple, and do all golds. I like that

Well, I've nixed the gold and reshuffled the purples. We shall see what happens now.

Thanks for the help. My daughter is very smug that most of you agreed with her about the gold!

I must say that the gold jumped out at me too! Adding more golds would blend it better. But I also agree with Candace - the purple on white print is the only fabric that doesn't 'read' as a solid. But I'll end by saying that I've never made a bargello so have no idea what effect you should be aiming for at this stage (got a couple of patterns on order though!) so if I were you, I wouldn't pay any attention to what I say!

I don't have a pattern. I'm just winging it. It's one of my many bad habits. Some day I'm going to actually use one. I'm sure it will solve many problems.

I think the whites stick out. Maybe replace one of them with another gold and a couple lighter blues to blend with the others. Anything with alot of white in it will stand out more and not blend quite as much.
