Hi Linda, the pattern is by Piecemakers, the Country Store in California. The professional quilter will sew snowflakes on the first border and she will sew Christmas Hollies on the second border. A little bit of top stitching only to stabilize the quilt (as suggested in the pattern). Thank you for your comments.

That's beautiful -- I hope to do a Bargello some day -- bought a book about it but haven't started yet.

    Hi from Mo,
Your quilt is a work of art. I love the colors and the design. You did a wonderful job on your first quilt. I'd like to see the quilt after you have it quilted.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

The quilt is just beautiful. Hopefully one of these days I'll work up enough courage to try a bargello. I love it!

When you do, you will see it's addictive. You really see it coming together with every strip you sew. I really enjoyed making it.

    Tks.

Just ordered a Bargello pattern. Am a bit scared to try it but I do love the pattern. Was this very difficult? I am an okay quilter but not really advanced yet. Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks. I had a great deal of fun choosing the fabric, got real nervous before I started, I was told you never know how they will work together until you start piecing.

My first full sized quilt was a bargello too! Yours is fabulous. Great job. I didn't know how to quilt at all when I did it. I think just about every seam was sewn twice. It turned out well in the end but there was definitely a steep learning curve!!

Hi Judy. I totally agree. I persevered not to have to many double seams, but at times I didn't know I would ever see the end of it. But we did it, didn't we!!

Hi, just get going, it's fun. The design is very intimidating, but the sewing is not so bad. The smaller strips always a bit tricky. I was told by a professional quilter that I should have pressed open the seams, given the number. But I did it the proper way, I pressed all the seams to opposite sides, a bit bulky, I really don't mind it. Good luck.
