Thought I would share a picture of my first bargello. I took a class, and the quilt now hangs in my office at work.

Now THAT is one gorgoius bargello! I'll be making one in the near future and I ordered a book on bargello quilts so I'm awaiting for it to come so I can see how it is done. This book I ordered had instruction for squares or by strips and such, but I 'm think it is all sewn in stradas and then cut either in to diffrent size strips and or blocks. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

I have always wanted to do one of those quilts did you find it very hard to construct? I've been quilting for over 10 years so I know the basics etc but that pattern always looks so hard to do.

I had the pattern, and took a class. The most important thing was to take it one strip at a time, and use a design wall. I put all the strips up on the wall, and could see any mistakes (there were quite a few) before sewing the strips together.

It all starts with the strip sets that get sub cut into different width strips.

Stunning! I would love do a bargello quilt but not sure I have the patience! I've had some say "they're easy" and others tell me to "run away! they're a nightmare"....

    Yours is truly beautiful!!
