Default Beach/Sand topper ready for quilting

The kids wanted a large quilt to use on the beach where they live (Magdalen Islands). I'm thinking of putting a label with their phone number on the back as they will be proud parents next month and might forget a few things on the beach from time to time. LOL! I don't have a clue how to quilt this topper - sorry for the picture of the pinned topper dumped onto our bed with the dog pouncing on it immediately! If you have any quilting ideas, I would very much appreciate your input!

Since this good quilt will undoubtedly have heavy use I would suggest that you NOT put huge amounts of energy into the quilting. I think I would go with a meander. I agree about the label.

Great quilt and I might do the twisted ribbon meander that MaryKatherine posted pictures of on her quilt a few weeks ago. It is posted under the title Under-rated Ribbon Meander.

Thanks, Tartan! That looks quick and yet covers the areas well. I think I will play with this idea! I'm going to stipple around the center heron as it's appliqued on and will take a lot of abuse on the sand no doubt. Thanks again!

Very pretty. I would just do a simple meander.

I am sure the kids are going to enjoy the beach once they have parenthood under control.
