Loretta, I am almost finished with my latest project which is a pinwheel. It's called the Louisiana and I have really enjoyed making this one. I will post a pic of the quilt top that I just finished along with a pic of the border that goes on this quilt. I am working on quilting it now and will post a pic when I get done.

Pretty colors and lovely work. I've been thinking about trying pinwheels on a baby quilt that I will be making this summer. Your quilt is an inspiration to get me started.

Since you have the center and borders posted separately, do you machine quilt the center first and then add the borders? I've been reading about that technique and wonder how it really works.

Great job!

Brenda.........no, I haven't tried doing that yet. I only have the quilt top and the borders posted seperately because at the time I was still working on the border and hadn't got it sewn to the top yet. A quilt this size (queen size) I usually don't have much problem with quilting on the machine in one piece.

nellie, I quilted this on my brother sewing machine, using the quilting foot and the free motion foot. It was so big I had to section the batting in 3 different pieces to get it to fit in the machine.
