V E R Y nice!!! Am glad you decided to follow through with it. I also like the corner detail of the quilt, but not sure how you did it cuz it looks like the paisley border print hasn't been pieced at the end and the marble red squares look like they 'lay' over the paisley. How was it done, if you please? Thanks for sharing.

I am not sure what to call the corner blocks, to me I thought they were just half-log cabin type things that would look good and combine all the colors nicely. I started with a red square and added strips to each side(half paisley, other half flat black), just like working a log cabin block except I added a red cornerstone to half the strips. These 4 final blocks are actually a major oops as I just couldn't figure out how to piece 2 blocks as a mirror image to the other 2. I had wanted them all to have the paisley print on the inside so the border would "curve" around the quilt but, just couldn't work it out since they were 8"x10" blocks and decided to let it ride like it was. LoL! So thankful for all the kind words, I feel a lot better about giving it to mom as she liked it too. I am still not feeling it but I do appreciate all ya'll!
