Thank you.
Now I'm trying to get into "quilt mode" again.
My hubby and I have a friend that has had 3 different bouts with cancer and I want to make her a quilt that reflects her personality. BTW she is a kick in the pants. She is Italian and a survivor and she loves reds and blacks. She and her guy just finished a cabin in LaPine and I was thinking about a Log Cabin sampler for her. I want to try paper piecing and I have a book that has many different Log cabin patterns in it. I'm just sort of scared to get started. Any ideas? I have a few red and black patterns and I thought I'd add a few whites in there too. Please let me know what you think?
Thanks,
Faith :XD:

Beautiful, and I am sure your Mom would have loved it. The loss of a family member is so hard. Lost my Mother then my Father, then a few years later my wonderful Mother-In-Law, then recently my only Sister. I took care of all 4 till their last breathe . So hard sometimes. Bless you for finishing this quilt. My sister and I designed a quilt and she was able to make one square, as soon as I get it quilted I will send a picture.

Johnniek,
I would love to see it. Bless you for the sacrifices you made to make your loved ones days comfortable. Perhaps this quilt that you and your sister designed will help you to remember them all.
Please post your square when you can. We can't wait to see it.
Take care,
Faith

What a wonderful gift from a New Friend. I'm glad you have it finished. The name of your quilt reminded me of one of my favorite christian inspirational novels by Janet Oke, called, "Roses for Mama". A little different theme, but a very dear book to me.

I'm glad it's finished too. It kicked around for 9 years and I was afraid something was going to happen to it. Now I need to get it up on the wall in our bedroom. Not sure how I want to hang it.
I'm happy the name reminded you of something dear to you.
Take care,
Faith :-D

Faith,
Thank u for ur suggestion. I't's going to be little while before I can start on my mom's. It's hard for me right now to decide on colors for my sister. Just because of the reason I am quilting for her. I just thought about this week after I Bed of Roses for Mom. That was touching.
Do pray for her that God give her the strength she needs to keep going and give up. (and her husband too.)
I will evenually put the picture on. Thank you for your thoughtfullness.

You said that your Mom would have loved anything you made her, so why not do the same for your sister. Make her something that you know will give her joy.
I have to tell you if she's anything like you she will love whatever you make her.
I get to go look a houses to buy this weekend(lets hope that none are dumps) actually looking a 5 different ones.
Now go have a great weekend.
Bless you,
Faith :XD:
