What a nice thing to do for your dad! He will enjoy that touch of love! They measure 5.5" x 8". I'll upload the pattern I used if you'd like it or maybe others would love to make and give one too. The seam allowance is included. Just lay the pattern on top of your stripped piece and cut out the front and back and voila -- a cute heart! It was a very fast mini for me! My friend's favorite color is yellow so I know she'll just love it! The hearts make a great gift idea! Thank you, JuneBillie, for your nice compliments! Hope your dad recovers quickly!

So great! I was wondering what size you made them. thanks for posting.. I sent all my doll quilts to the NICU in Colo. Memorial Hospital.. Those were about from 12X12 INCHES to about 24"..and even 2 crib size quilts.

WTG, AlaskaAlice!! The parents will love them! I think the heart is a good size for the preemies and I understand some of the babies can be 12 lbs. even so all sizes of minis would be good! This hospital I've sent to has babies from all over the US as they are from high risk pregnancies and if they don't survive, they use the minis to bury them with. But the parents love to use the minis to decorate the rooms as it gives them hope their baby will live. We hope they all survive! I put the hanger on in case the parents want to use it later to decorate the baby's bedroom with. I'll be doing more hearts for I know this will be a popular request!

p.s. I just finished HQ Next Door Neighbor! Can't wait to get them off! Thank you!!

What great quilts. I just love the car fabric as my first car was a 1956 Chevy and 6 months later I bought a red and white corvette. How odd that they have both my cars in a fabric.
