Blooming 9-Patch - oopsies!
I saw a picture of a blooming 9-patch quilt (before I knew what it was called), and decided to make one. So, of course, I made a mistake in figuring out the pattern - AFTER - I had cut all the squares LOL
I didn't realize that the nine-patches were fabrics 1 and 2, then 2 and 3, then 3 and 4. I sewed them as 1 & 2, then 3 & 4, etc. so I had LOTS of extra solid squares left LOL. BUT, in the end I like it better, because it's not as big!

I think it looks great. Blanche Young was a very innovated quilter that I was lucky to have meet her numerous time (shopping at M&L fabrics) and taken a DWR class from her. She could pick the ugliest fabric and make them into a stunning quilt. Her book Tradition with a Twist is where this pattern can be found. I am sure she would be pleased with the outcome of this quilt.
