    Kay, it is a very easy pattern called blooming 9-patch, from the book "Tradition With A Twist". And thank you all for your kind comments.

    Thanks for the info - I actually have that book and remember drooling over the quilts but didn't recognize the pattern! Now I'll have to give that book more serious consideration! I did a google search with images for other quilts done with this pattern after seeing your response. WOW-they are all beautiful!

    Yeah, I was less than impressed with the ones shown in the book too. But I had seen some really pretty ones, and wanted to do one in lilacs. Gosh I miss them!!

    I have missed lilacs ever since I was moved from New England (by my parents) as a teen. I don't think I've ever forgiven them for it ; )
    There is no other fragrance as lovely.
