Blue Infinity Bargello

Thank you so much for posting this! Absolutely lovely.
I am about to try Surf Song from the same book, but I am a chicken who is using a set of blue fat quarters.
If I need help, I will be calling on you and Danmar. Have a look at how Danmar has quilted hers - stunning.
Cheers

That is beautiful! I am so in awe of Bargello's. They really need a good eye for value and placement...something I don't have. I'm gonna try one..."some day". I have so many "some day" in the vault...who knows if I'll ever get to them. LOL

Excellent work. I teach bargello classes and am always amazed at the workmanship and color choices from quilters who usually say they would never attempt to make a bargello quilt because it looks so difficult. Then are thrilled when they find the ease of construction and choice of color produces a masterpiece. The quilting should not over shadow the design. I have made several twist patterns and found stitching straight lines that follow the flow of the twist is the best way. It accentuates the twist and does not distract from it.
The four corners and borders can be quilted in a design usually curved to contrast with all the straight lines in the design.
Happy quilting!

In my reply I forgot to mention. Do not use white thread to do the quilting. Use a varigated blue to do the straight stitching of the twist design and a blue to match the background for the corner and border stitching. This will accentuate the texture of the twist quilt design.
