First off thanks for all the opinions, sometimes you just need a little push to help push you one way or the other.

This is for the service manager at the dealer ship where I take my truck for it's service work. Andy has taken care of me and my trucks for over 5 years and I thought this would be my way of saying thanks for all he has done for me.

Don't you just love giving quilt to people that can't imagine why you'd do that... but we have a service guy that deserves the same. thanks for the idea

He is the greatest, gives me discounts all the time. Makes sure everyone knows how I take care of my truck and how I like things certin way in my truck. He gets me in and out a.s.a.p.

Great choices. The effect when you are done is always different than expected. Your mechanic is one lucky guy. You did a fantastic job. Thanks for sharing the final product with us.

It is called Lilliana and the collection in the pattern pic is Lilliana by Andover. The material I used was Afternoon tea by legacy Studio.

How did you decide on the pattern of material you used? I have a hard time picking collections like that, when I find a pattern I like.

I have had the material for a while. When I deceide to make a quilt for someone I ask them what their favorite colors are and go from there. I look threw my stash of already bundled material (bundles are several peices of fabric put into a bundle to make a quilt). I then look threw my tons of patterns to see which ones will work according to the amount of material that is required and narrow it down to one.

They will have no idea what the material will look like nor what the pattern will be. So far so good, everyone has loved what I have chose for them.
