Just finished hand quilting another unique quilt. This belongs to a customer from Arizona. She says the flour mill still uses these cloth sacks.

(She will do the handwork on the binding.)

Beautiful, reminds me of the quilts my mother and grandmother used to make from sacks in the 40's.

You did a beautiful job on this quilt, Martha! And the lady from Arizona didn't lie. They do still use these sacks. They have some of the best flour (all kinds) in the world. Anytime I am in New Mexico I have standing orders from 6 people for the 50# bags.

Thanks to you all. I'm glad you like the quilting. Wasn't sure how to quilt it to keep the focus on her sacks. Took me awhile to decide.

I don't know. The lady that pieced the quilts (she made 3) bought flour to get bags and also found a lady to buy some bags from. The Native Americans in that area buy the flour to make fry bread. You could try contacting the company. The address is in the close-up picture of the bags.
