Your quilt is just beautiful and I like the pieced border.

The quilt is absolutely gorgeous! I think the pieced border sets it off perfectly.

pieced border all the way. It is beautiful and that border ties it all together. It's a great piece.

Thank you all for your sweet comments and helpful opinions. I will keep the pieced border and keep working on it. I have a feeling it isn't going to fit the body of the quilt perfectly, so the use and size of a narrow border is probably going to be highly determined by what is needed to make the pieced border fit properly. I probably should not have set those squares on point, but I'm not undoing them now. I do like the natural miter though. As for the color of a narrow border and binding, I still can't decide. I have limited amounts of colors with enough yardarge. Still open to ideas!

First and foremost - what a gorgeous looking quilt! Beautiful! Love the pieced border as it is in keeping with your lovely irish chain quilt and scrappy look. I think that will look unbelievably fantastic!! :thumb up: Perhaps the narrow border can be a solid colour? Best of luck with choosing the borders. Please post the finished quilt, I am eager to see what it will look like when it is completed. Best wishes.

I think the pieced border gives your quilt the unity to bring it all together. It is beautiful and will truly be a family heirloom. Great job!
