Border Question--The Quilt Top by Committee is Finished Christmas Quilt
One the main section, I had asked for suggestions about border treatments. Several very nice people offered suggestions and I finished this up yesterday. So here is the finished project and I hope you will think it turned out okay.
I got this pattern off the Marcus Fabric website for free. I was looking for a pattern that would use the large focus print of the Kaufman Holiday 5 designs. I wanted to leave them in tact and that went against my wanting to do a stack and whack, which is how I see all fabric pretty much. The fabric is metallic and so beautiful and heavy.
The finished flimsy.
A bit closer view. This is about 92 x 102. I added an extra row. The border is two pieces (since I had cut the fabric before deciding to flip it and so had to add some back on to the outside. Grrrr!!

Hard to get those corners of flowers perfectly matched as it is asymmetrical. But after ripping one out and trying to get a better match, I gave that idea up. At least the stripes came together at a 45 degree angle reasonably well.
I have fabric left over. This neat pile that I started with is now larger and flowing over the plastic tub. I think cutting fabric makes it multiply. So I started a Medallion sew along over on Blocks of the Week and Month to use up some of the leftovers. Hope you all have the beginnings of a Great New Year.
