I like the dark to light config. But, maybe the center block could be whitish also?

Whoa! I said that wrong. The dark from the outside in and maybe the center could be whitish.

I don't have enough of anything other than the black for the squares. The black center then black next to it kind of muddles all together in the center.

I really like the second one, but since you're playing around on EQ7, I'd be interested to see what the first one looks like if you did a black and white center diamond. I think its the solid looking black in the center that's making the picture not as dramatic as the second one looks.

Here are other settings. I think it loses the pattern without the black centers.
