    Braid Quilt

My first braid, I found the pattern on reannalilydesigns.com called The Batik Braid Quilt. I ditched it and then fmq in rows as this is my first large fmq project, 58 x 78 inches, and my first fmq project on my Husqvarna Tribute. It took a bit of learning and fiddling to figure it all out but I'm quite happy with the result. This will be a Christmas gift for my daughter.

The quilt as well as the quilting looks great. I am still not confidant enough in my FMQ to put it on a quilt yet, it takes a lot of practice.

What a great idea to ditch your quilt before fmq. I have held off doing fmq for so long because I am afraid of the slippage I might get because my hands are weak from carpal tunnel and arthritis. I'm excited to try it your way now. I'll start with something small to get the hang of it. Thanks so much for sharing. You have inspired me to get started on my many finished tops.

I love your quilt and the layout of your fabrics.

Beautiful quilt, I love the colors and the FMQ, I almost always do a large stipple. I love doing it and I love the look, not into anything fanicer.
