Default bright squares in white - Toddler size quilt

I'm currently quilting the tops I've made since I first began quiltmaking, and this is the latest. Todder or throw size--it's about 45x68. The dots in the backing fabric form a kind of stripe, I discovered, so in sewing it together to make it large enough, I inserted the strip of purple and one of the color blocks to disguise the lines of dots not precisely matching. Only when I finished did I realize that the backing looks like it is wearing a belt!

    Thanks for looking!

That is a sharp quilt--bright and beautiful. Sometimes simple designs are best. Did you frame each block, or use sashing?

    Thanks!

No sashing. Each 3.5" (cut size) colored square is bordered by 2.5x3.5" and 2.5x5.5" white strips. These are the blocks, which I just sewed together. I think I probably saw a picture of a quilt similar to this -- it's been awhile since I made the top -- the bright primary colors set in white appealed to me. The white is actually a white on white tiny leaf pattern, hard to see in the photo. The colored border is pieced from the same fabric as the squares, of course. The squares were from fat quarters though I think the dark red came from yardage.

It looks so clean and crisp--I just love it.
