Default "Brilliant" - scrappy quilt is complete

I have named this quilt, with over 3500 pieces, Brilliant. It was inspired from a Jill Reid pattern in a 2009 Quilters Newsletter magazine called "Remembering Rebecca." The original quilt used Civil War prints. I used brighter fabrics but made sure to keep the scale of the prints very small and used a few solid fabrics.

I am delighted with the quilting done by a professional long arm quilter. We chose a small scale motif with ovals to be centered over each of the 143 blocks. The blocks are 5", and the small squares are 1".
I made it to commemorate the hard work of a recent college graduate. He loves it too!
