I just noticed you're in Fernandina Beach -- beautiful place -- I spent a couple nights there once after a cruise vacation.

That is the cutest quilt and idea!!! I would love to make one for my neighbor's grandson but I don't have any bug fabric - in the event any of you want to help me out... My neighbors are 66 and 74 respectively, and they are raising their grandson because the Mother was on drugs and didn't take care of him. They are on a minimal fixed income with large medical bills. The husband nearly died numerous times and is on dialysis. He goes for treatments most every day, all day long. He is the only father/grandfather that their grandson knows. The grandson LOVES bugs and rocks. He is always bringing jars over to show my husband and I his latest bug collection (I just hope he doesn't show up with a snake sometime). If any of you would like to contribute a scrap of bug fabric for a quilt for him, just send me a PM. Thanks!!

That is one of the best bug quilts that I have seen. Love the lizard.

Did you piece your blocks or applique the jars onto the background fabric?
