I had to look back and forth to make sure I recognized the picture from your work. You captured him beautifully, the only difference I see is the glare in his eyes. The owner should charish it forever!

No I don't use software. I just start out with a photograph and go from there. I don't posterize either like some do. I find it very confusing and forget to look for the lights and shadows. Some of my pictures I find it easier to just draw the subject, especially the florals.
