A lap size ready to quilt - first time on point.
Hoping to attempt freehand butterflies in the print blocks and probably some small flowers in the 9 patches.

I'm hoping so ... some of the practice ones look like a cross between a bat and an owl!

What if you found a clipart picture of butterflies and tried it that way. Would that make it easier?

Yes, been looking at stencils etc & got myself some Golden Hands quilting paper to trace - but I really want to try & freehand if I can. Every bit of paper laying around at the moment has odd looking flying things drawn on . . .

This is so pretty! I love the on point quilts so much. Your's lays so nice and flat compared to how my first on point looked... (just think of rolling angry sea for borders)

I like it! For some reason I love simple quilts the best. Your colors are amazing, and when you get your appliques done it will be even more beautiful! Good job!

Katrine, don't be too hard on yourself, if you tense up your freemotion won't flow, have a glass of wine and put some bouncy music on and have FUN!!

It will be spectacular as all your work is so fantastic!! :D

Izy - taking it slowly - only just learned to breathe while doing it - why does it make you hold your breath!!!
