    Camping Quilts

Just wanted to share my recently completed projects made for my grandchildren ~ toasty, flannel-backed camping quilts.

When I asked my DGD what colors she liked her answer was "bright"...

... so that's what she got. I love how cheerful this is!

I looked for camping-themed fabric for my 9 yr. old DGS but didn't find anyhing suitable - ended up finding a drawing of a tent made of simple geometric shapes and paper-pieced these tent
    blocks.

I think it turned out pretty darned cute!

They are perfect, but too nice for camping in my opinion. I just love the tents what a lucky find of fabric that was.

Love both quilts! I think I could do that first one with some of my larger scraps. Thanks for the idea.

Oh, my gosh, those quilts are wonderful! I especially love the tent one since we are also tent campers. I think it is so cool the way that the sun goes across the sky and eventually it is night with the moon shining and the tent doors closed. How did you do the sun with paper piecing? I haven't tried pp yet, but it is definitely on my list for the next thing to try. Both of your quilts are beautiful. You are very talented. Thanks for sharing

You did a great job on both of the quilts. You should enter the tent quilt in a quilt show under original designs. Just love it. Both grandchildren look like they love the quilts

Very nicely done. They look so comfy cozy.
I don't want to brag but I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school.
