this is my step daughters first real project...with her own sewing machine and all, and the cat ate her face :(
I think she was doing an excellent job for a first timer and we still need to make her clothes, but I really want to get the face fixed first.

I'd cut another face the same size + seam allowance as the one the cat ate. Complete the embroidery, etc. Then turn under the edges and aplique in place with a blind stitch. If you align the replacement piece with the hairline and chin it shouldn't be too noticeable. I have a Raggedy Ann that needs the same work and this is how I plan to do it.

the problem is this is a pre-printed fabic- all she had to do was cut it out and sew around the edges, turn inside right and stuff. So the head is not sewn on the body, it is part of the body- the arms are sewn on seperately, but thats about it.
I thought of trying to draw a new face on some cream fabric, but I am so afraid it wont be the same. And, i tried looking for the same pattern, but havent found anything.
Funny thing is she isnt really uspet about it, but I am, lol. she is all, we can do something else. but i really want to teach her to finish things she starts, which means fixing. *sigh*
