Thank you everyone! Whew! I am beaming and blushing here! You all write the nicest things! And Rebecca you made me laugh with your jaw dropping comment!

Jean it really is slightly skewed if you saw it on a wall. Heh heh... I wrestled as much of that drift away as I could, but the problem with one inch blocks is you can't fudge them much when you put on the border. And I had to go and make the border something you couldn't fool with either. I was steaming and starching so much to bring it under control that the quilt practically stands up on it's own.

Hiya Nancy - I would say that my daughter is a writer, but everyone in our family likes to make poems for gifts. Most of the time they are silly ones. My hubby had a blog once with the silly ones, but i think he let it go. I like to try to butcher haiku once in a while just to mess with my head. "This is your brain... this is your brain trying to write haiku." (Imagine frying noises)

You are very talented. Great piecing, great fabric colors (I also didn't notice any "drift."). You make me want to go there and see the mountains in person.

Very beautiful! Great job and no one but you will notice AND comment on any mistakes - which of course I don't see :-)

Very nice! I like that method of making a landscape appear.

Ah--just lovely. As a miniature maker and a poet it appeals to my senses!

I'm trying to envision the scale of this mini. When you say 1" block, do you mean the completed size of the squares and HST's or the completed size of the
split 9P block?
