cathedral windows - another way to finish?

I understand exactly what you are asking, because I have one unfinished for that very reason! I hope someone has a creative way to finish as the sides just don’t look right sewn closed and that’s why mine is a UFO.

I really like how the black gives the look of a sashing to separate each 'block'. I vote for sewing them down, a lovely project and a donation--good for you.

Lots of interesting ideas from the sites the one woman posted. I like the one where they used a fabric with a good sized star and centered it in the block and turned the bias edges back and stitched them. It would frame each block and get the joining seams finished. I would leave the outside edges black,turn them back and stitch down.
