It's just a big 9 patch, really. The snail's trail is in the middle and the cats make up 4 more of the 9 patches. Then you just make whatever you want in the 4 corner blocks-- I did Birds in the Air.

I like what you did in the corners. I did this as a mini quilt last year and appliqued birds, butterflies and flowers in the corner spaces. LOVE this pattern. So fun.
