Chalkboard fabric placemats
#11
I bought some from Bayside Quilting in Olympia Washington. It was rolled and not folded. And came with instructions on how to take care of it. Before you do any sewing on it, you want to take some white chalk and lay the chalk on its side and rub chalk ALL over it then wipe it off and then you are ready to use it. )

What does this do? Tighten the chalkboard fabric or take the shine off?

I read that this "cures" the chalkboard fabric so that you can wipe it off with a damp paper towel and use it over and over again. If you wash it, then you have to "cure" it again before using it.
