There is another recent thread here about charity quilts and how so many of them "go" for less than the cost of the materials in them at auctions, especially silent auctions. Raffles are so much better.....

 Yeah! I would hate to see this beautiful quilt go for little especially as the family needs financial help. Also I think many people would love to help but might not be able to donated a large sum at once while they could participated with a raffle.

Both might be very appropriate for them.
The Serenity Prayer is used in AA and NA but is not limited to those groups. It is a prayer that was written long before those groups came into being. There is a lot of wisdom in that prayer.

it is a beautiful quilt with great quilting. i, too, have to learn that when a gift is given, it is no longer mine. the giftee can do what they want/need to do with it. i hope they get a great price at the auction.

Thank you all so very much for your warm and sweet comments. I really appreciate and it means a lot to me.

I will be busy today trying to find a panel that i could do very fast since i am leaving to the east coast within 10 days, and i need to make something fast.

Thanks again

It is beautiful! Your son did a wonderful job quilting. Here is my suggestion from the mother - make another center panel and embroider the Lord's Prayer. The added handwork takes a lot but she will feel your love and caring every time she looks at it.
