Interesting development in the circumstances I mentioned about my stepdaughters not appreciating (or using) the quilt I made for the older grandkids. I can't stop chuckling every time I think of it.

When our grandson was born on January 15th, DH was out of town but I was at the hospital. By the time he was home and we went to visit, baby was 4 days old and I had embroidered a label with his name and birthdate. As I sat and stitched it on, older brother (aged 6) watched with interest and read the label. I told him that I had made one for him when he was born and it had a label with his name too, did he remember it? He shook his head and Mom piped up that it was in the closet with the other blankets he does not use every day. Of course he had to get it out and it was obvious it had never been used as it looked never washed.

Fast forward to last weekend and the grandkids and parents we at our house for dinner. Son-in-law mentioned that 6 year old has insisted on having his quilt from me over him every night since them and the label end has to close to his head. You never know! The 6 year old's quilt below (Mom's only nursery theme was chocolate brown walls and blue):

She wasn't asking for much, but she got it all! Looks great, too!
