I too love your chicken quilt .... well, your daughter's quilt. The chickens are really cute and those alternate blocks do look a bit like nests as someone else said. Going to save this idea!
You know, I use to laugh at posts that said that no matter how many scrap quilts someone made, they never seemed to get rid of them and in fact ended up with more. How can that be I said to myself. Then this past year or so I have been on a "use up my stash and don't buy more fabric" binge. Turns out that it's true and I am embarrassed for laughing because I still have way too many scraps.
