Oh my, Oh My, OH MY. What a treasure. I would go to more than one appraiser is possible. That sugg of a museum might be the most correctly appraised. Could you make payments to him to purchase this quilt. I am drooling of this workmanship/artistry. Can anyone imagine the hours of love with every stitch?

I bet the Shelburne Museum in Vermont would be interested in it. They have a wonderful collection of 18th- & 19th-century American quilts. This one looks like a masterpiece to me.

What a beautiful quilt! Such a treasure!

I am sad that he would want to (or need to) sell it instead of keeping it as a family heirloom.

Just curious...where/how has it been stored all these years? I don't even see any fold marks & the color on the roses looks beautiful. What is the backside like? Is there a label on it saying who made it/when & for whom?

That quilt is so beautiful!! The quilter must be looking down from heaven and smiling to see how well it has held up after all of these years!
