Our quilt guild regularly donates quilts of various sizes to hospitals, women's shelters, a camp for special needs kids and others. Here are a couple I've been working on. The pinwheel one is a wheelchair lap quilt I made from fabric that was donated (WC quilts are smaller than most lap quilts so they won't tangle in wheels). When I turned that in, the committee chair handed me the top, batting and backing for the other one. I don't even know who pieced it, but love her choice of fabrics. I am just learning FMQ, and have a long way to go, but I had fun with them.

How creative! The coffee theme quilt is especially cute. I know whoever receives it will cherish it.

Thanks, Anna, and all who had nice words, but you all are not close enough to see how uneven the stitch sizes are. I'm just starting and having lots of fun. I hope to get better with practice. What's funny is I can't follow a line to save myself, so I just have to wing it. Sometimes it works okay, and other times I have lots of stitches to pull.

I'd like to add that if you have done FMQ but have not tried writing, I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is. You already have the rhythm from years of handwriting. The only problem with writing on a quilt is that it's always backwards on the back.
