I really like the softness of the washed out colors. Permanent markers work well for intense colors.

No, I didn't. The instructions I had didn't say to do that. I recolored them once but that was all. I have already given them to a friend who wanted them.

Those are so cute. FroggyinTexas has some great hints on doing crayon coloring. She generously offerred to share them with the members. She has taught classes doing this. You might want to contact her.
