Around here we transition from Christmas right into Mardi Gras. This year it's on Feb 21st.
It's always on a different date... but always on a Tuesday. I think it's the 6th Tuesday after the first full moon after Christmas. Sometimes it's in March. Lots of people leave their tree up and just redecorate in purple, green, and gold.
Hi Janelle,
Small world my dear - Lafayette, La. is my hometown and I loved seeing your post about Mardi Gras. I do also decorate a little for Mardi Gras. You should post your decorations so I can get inspired. My husband and I went South this past October and stopped at the "Best Stop" and bought $600 worth of La. crayfish, stuffed pork chops, and boudin. Of course half of that was for my sister and her family. So about every few weeks we have a little feast and savor every bite. I love living here near Albuquerque mostly because the weather is so fabulous but I miss the food and everything else Cajun. Have a great day !!!!

The hearts are so pretty. Have you done a tutorial on them before? I'd love to see it if you have. They would make a great valentine's gift.

Love your trees and the ornaments. Also like the crazy quilt tree skirt under the Christmas tree. Pretty stuff. Thanks for sharing.
